They Said What!

  • Throughout the week we had asked Anna and Cecilia if they think the baby is a boy or a girl. Anna couldn't decided she continually changed her mind and answered differently almost every time she was asked. Cecilia answered an emphatic "doughnut" everytime.
  • Last Thursday in our mad rush to get out the door and Anna to school on time I had run downstairs to grab something when I heard Anna yell, "Mom, we have a problem." When I got upstairs I found Anna laughing in the bathroom at Cecilia who was in the tub, still in her pajamas, rubbing shampoo all over herself while singing "Wash your body, wash, wash, your body," a song we sing when they are in the tub. Needless to say, we were late for school that day.
  • I took the opportunity on November 12th to sit down with Anna and talk to her about the election of America's first African American president and how great it is because at one time people who are black weren't allowed to use the same restrooms as white people or even drink out of the same drinking fountains or eat at the same restaurants. She listened intently thoughout and after I had finished she looked at me and said what I had been feeling all morning on that historical day, "YES!" I wish President Obama all the best in the world and hope he can do what so many believe he is capable of.
