Our little Girl Scout!

Anna became a Daisy Scout today. I was a Girl Scout when I was younger and loved it, so when my friend Connie, who is the troop leader, asked if Anna would like to join I was just as excited as she was. I think it provides a great opportunity to meet friends and do service in the community. She has friends from Roosevelt and some of her friends from her soccer team who go to Adams are also in her troop.

Here is Anna in the Girl Scout circle singing "Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other gold."

Here she is after getting her Daisy pin and her Girl Scout certificate. They had to repeat the Girl Scout oath, "I promise to serve my God, my community, and my country" before getting their pins.

Today's activity included making gingerbread houses that are going to be auctioned off at an auction for family advocacy this weekend. They meet every other Tuesday and I am really excited to see what they do throughout the year.
