Last week Anna had her first piano recital. We wanted to make it a special event and Grandma Terri, Aunt Jordan and Aunt Sara helped us make it a special night.

Anna wanted to go "somewhere fancy" for dinner before the recital so we decided to go to Asiagos, an Italina restaurant in downtown Boise.

Thank heavens for good families.
What is a wonderful dinner at a "fancy" place without hanging a spoon off of your nose...it just wouldn't be right.

Yes, it is a inherited family talent.

Even Cecilia got in on the action.
Anna started taking lessons in October and she has loved it. Miss Heather, Anna's previous and Cecilia's current preschool teacher, is who Anna takes lessons from and I think that it helps that Anna adores her.

Anna played "Mexican Hat Dance" and "Do Your Ears Hang Low." She had played these songs over and over and over and over again and I hadn't seen her use sheet music for weeks. She was fourth on the program and everyone before her had used their sheet music. I had brought her's just in case and after seeing everyone else use their's she decided at the last minute she wanted to take her sheet music up. It was all folded up and she couldn't get it to stand up-so although she had it-she couldn't see it, so it's a good thing she had it memorized. She did wonderfully and I was so proud of her. She is such a special, beautiful girl.

Everytime I look at this picture I get teary eyed. I love how proud she was of herself, but I also love how she was looking right at me to see me cheering her on- love you kiddo.

Here is our special family.

My sisters and mom are always so supportive and their presence made Anna first piano performance so special.
