On Memorial Day Weekend we had the wonderful idea to go to Silver Creek Hotsprings above Garden Valley. Brennan and Brad decided to join us so we loaded up the kids and took off on the hour and a half drive-bom, bom, bom, or so we thought. When we finally got to the turnoff for the hotsprings which would have been nine more miles there was a forest service truck blocking the road. A man then explained that because of the rain the bridge to the hotsprings was out and we would have to take a detour. A detour of probably another hour. We decided that we would continue on our way and just enjoy the beautiful drive. The drive was beautiful, but muddy and when we finally got about a mile outside of the hotsprings the road was so muddy we started sliding all over. Scott apologized and then said he didn't feel comfortable going any further because if it started to rain there was no way we would be able to get back out...which would have been fine if we would have had more provisions than sunscreen and swimming suits. So one mile from our desination and three hours from when we started we turned around. On the way home we stopped to have lunch and the girls stepped into the river for as long as their little feet could tolerate it. Then we drove back to Boise dropped Brennan, Brad, and Dane off at home and took our girls swimming at the YMCA seven whole hours from the time we started. I guess you could call our day a beautiful disaster.

On Monday we went to the cemetary and took flowers to "Grandpa Bob's" grave.
While we were there the R.B. Erickson crew showed up and so we got a picture of our kids at Grandpa Bob's grave.
We love you Grandpa Bob and are teaching our kids to "Work Hard, Make Good Choices, and Have Fun" just like you taught us.
