Last Saturday June, 27th our family took a trip to Grimes Creek which is on the way to Idaho City. We packed a lunch, slipped on our swimming suits and headed out to our favorite swimming spot just passed mile marker 28.
BRRRRRR! The water was so cold.
Anna loved swimming with Scott. Her favorite thing to do was to climb upstream and then jump in to have the small rapids bring her back down. She could have swam for another four hours if the rest of us weren't so exhausted.
Cecilia was content to sit on the side with me and throw rocks in the water. Lilly slept most of the day away.
After swimming we drove the last few miles to Idaho City to finish our day with some ice cream at the local ice cream shop.
Sometimes in the daily craziness I forget how blessed I am. Sitting on the bank of that creek with Lilly and Cecilia watching Scott and Anna swim I couldn't have been happier. It's days like these that remind me to count my blessings, starting with my family.
