Basketball Party!

We had a pizza party at Lucky 13 celebrating the basketball season where the girls were given a small trophey and an award.

Anna got an award for being the best sport. She worked so hard all season. We would take her to the church to play and practice and the first time we went she tried and tried to dribble 25 times in a row. By the end of the season she would dribble up and down the floor seven or eight times without losing the ball. I love her try, try, again attitude. She really is such a special kid.

Here are a few of Anna's team mates Annabelle, Stacia, and Elizabeth. It was a big highlight of the night to have Stacia be able to come. She had just gotten out of the hospital that morning after an extended stay after having a tumor removed from her brain. All the girls were so excited to see her, it was so sweet.

Here is Lilly getting loved by "Coach Scott." I think it was an enlightening experience for Scott to coach kindergartners. One funny story about Scott's coaching experience happened at the first practice. The roster showed 10 girls an there were 11 kids there, one with especially short hair, so Scott assumed that it was a brother just sitting in on practice. He kept calling this player "buddy" until the player turned to him and said, "My name is Elizabeth, and I am a girl." Great start coach Scott.

You can't imagine how much I enjoy your posts. Even though I miss those girls sooo much, seeing their cute pictures makes it a lot easier. I especially enjoyed the ones in the outfits from Fiji...wish I could have seen the dances. Love you all!
