This year the girls and I decided to make flower valentines for their classes. Anna drew all the heart and leaves and I cut them out. Then with suckers and cupcake holders we put together our valentines. They had little sayings like, "Our friendship is blooming," and "I'm so glad we're buds."
When we put them all together they turned into a really cute "bouquet".
I brought special treats and took pictures for the Roosevelt yearbook at Anna's classe's valentines party. Here are a couple of her friends and classmates Mikaela and Annabelle.
Here is Anna with some of her other friends.
While the party was wonderful and so fun for the kids later that day Anna's friend Stacia found out she had a brain tumor and had to have surgery just three days later. She isn't allowed to have flowers in her hospital room so I volunteered one day in Anna's classroom and helped the kids each make a special flower (based on our valentines) and we made a beautiful bouquet for her. She is starting chemo this week and our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family-we are definately part of "team Stacia."
