Cecilia turned four on Sunday, August 29th. We had cake and ice cream after Sunday dinner. She had asked for a flower cake with purple and pink frosting and that is just what she got.
She is so special. She continues to suprise me with her wit, intelligence, and sweetness. She gets out of bed in the morning smiling and makes me smile throughout the day.
Cecilia wanted an Under the Sea birthday party including swimming and water and games and I wanted to give her an Under the Sea birthday party with all of those things, but I hadn't anticipated 68 degree weather in August. So we did the best with what we had. I ordered a princess jump house, bought a mermaid pinata, made "coral reef" cupcakes, and a red pepper octopus with hummus "sand" which we served with tomato soup (you know, because it was cold outside) swimming with goldfish and oyster crackers.
I think pinatas are great, although when the pinata is a cute mermaid I think it may go from fun to brutal. Cecilia and her friends had a great time breaking it though. In fact the Birthday girl bashed that mermaid's head.

Who says you need to be swimming to wear goggles-We think they look great minus the water.

Here are Briella, Eowyn, Paige, Cecilia, Spencer, Hunter, Simon, Ben, and Eli sporting their new fashion accessory.
And this is exactly what you should look like at the end of your fourth birthday party!
Love you Cec!
