October in August!

I am nine months behind-nine months!! So I'm going to bust through the last nine months as quickly as possible and promise myself to be better! No, I'm going to guarantee myself that I will be better and make this a priority.  Now it's in writing and I can't go back.

Cecilia had her first season of soccer in the fall and was a champ!  She scored goals in almost every single one of her games and in several games she scored three.  She wasn't really into the defensive aspect of game and if someone wanted to score on the opposing team that was just fine with her, so Scott and I approached her after one game to talk to her about how she is so fast that she could stop almost anyone- and she stops us and says, "Guys, I scored three goals,"  and just walked away like-what more do you want.  Scott and I shut up after that.

She is a speed demon!

In October we also visited my family in Malad and one day we went to the Treehouse museum in Ogden, UT.  It is such a fun place and one of the areas to play in is the oval office.  President Cecilia sounds pretty good...
President Anna sounds good also.

I was sitting in the throne first and Cecilia walked over and bowed down before me and said "Your Highness,"  she's so fun.  And now Queen Cecilia and Princess Lilly pause for a picture.

Pretend play at the Treehouse Museum.

October is a great month for fun cupcakes!

Every year we go to the pumpkin patch and freeze while picking out pumpkins, but every year we go and every year we have a great time.

Scott and my girls.

Lilly had a tough time picking out a pumpkin that she could carry.

Freezing-but fun.

Cecilia's preschool class.

No seriously-October is a great month for fun cupcakes.

My girls before trunk or treat.

Every year I ask the girls what they want to be for Halloween and then try to accommodate their wishes.  This year Anna wanted to be an owl and I did my best to make her an owl.  She was mistaken for the creature on "Where the Wild Things Are" once but I thought it turned out okay.
Lilly wanted to be a pirate and went around whacking people with her sword for weeks before Halloween saying,"ahoy mateys" and "walk the plank."

Cecilia decided to be a mermaid and was very specific about wanting a tail she could flop.  I had a little trouble determining how to make her a shell bra- I found that there is a thin line between being cute and looking "stripperish," but think it turned out cute :).

In October we also decided to make a trip up to see Scott's Grandma, "Grandma Dot"  she is in a nursing home in Othello, WA.  We used to see her all the time before Scott's Grandpa died and she lived in Pocatello, but since she moved to Washington we haven't been up to see her and thought it was time.

Here is Lilly loving Uncle Bill.

We spent the day with her and while she doesn't really remember us we will remember spending that day with her always.

While up in Washington we took a detour to Walla Walla to show the girls where we used to live.  We just happened to see the owners of the building where we used to manage and got to show the girls the crazy place we used to live.  In fact sometimes when I talk about our time managing there I hear a "DUM, DUM, DUM" in the background.  Stories of break-ins, drugs, arrests, tazer guns, and dead bodies are all part of our time in the Birchwood apartments.
We stopped to visit our friends Mignon and Bob Lim, who were so kind to us while we lived in Walla Walla.  Mignon helped me make my very first quilt.  Here is Anna on their zip line in their backyard.  My kids loved it here.

We also visited Whitman and showed the girls where Scott played basketball

and we walked our favorite paths through the quad and campus.

Lilly also loved the zip line, in fact we went back a second day just because it was so fun.
