We alternate years and holidays with our families. This year it was supposed to be an Erickson Christmas, but instead Alice rented a big home in Eden, which is up Ogden Canyon for all of us to spend New Year's Eve and the weekend. We had a wonderful time. There is nothing that compares to spending time and making memories with the people we love.

We had a dessert and appetizer "throwdown" on New Year's Eve. It was supposed to be a competition, but Scott's "Gringo sushi" (sushi with things like bacon and steak and avacado) took almost five hours to make and by that time no one was really interested in the judging because we had already eaten to much.

Grandpa Bob loved sock monkeys and so this year Grandma Alice in honor of him gave each of her grandchildren a sock monkey dressed in clothes that were based on the things they love. Anna's is a High School Musical monkey.
Cecilia's is a dancing monkey. Tyler's was a little monkey in a boyscout uniform and even had glasses and a little wheel chair. Drew's was in a karate outfit and came with belts of all different colors.

The other gift Alice gave the girls were dress up clothes that she had made. Here is Cecilia admiring her new bracelet in her new outfit.
