Camping!

One thing Scott and I have always agreed on is that we love the outdoors, but we also love sleeping in our own bed, so we have never been campers.  This year Scott said he wanted to start taking the kids on camping trips and I said I would support him, but really had no plans to participate.  We gathered the stuff we need to camp; buying a tent one month and cooking supplies the next until we had all the things we thought we would need.  The first time Scott decided to go I decided I would join him and sleep with John in the van.  We had old sleeping bags from when Bob was in a backpacking phase and Scott had bought himself a crazy nice sleeping bag at Costco...Let's just say that Scott was sweating in his garments in his nice bag while the rest of us were freezing! In the middle of the night Lilly joined me in my sleeping bag shaking because she was so cold and we zipped Anna and Cecilia's bags together and then put Lilly's sleeping bag she was no longer using over the top of them.  John slept in his car seat swaddled with several blankets.  Needless to say we didn't sleep very well, but even though our night was awful I was sold on camping.  I loved the time we spent together, talking, telling stories, hiking, cooking and making s'mores.  No TV, No Phone, No Interruptions!  I loved it!  When went a couple more times and got better at it every time we went.

Brad, Brennan, and Dane joined us on this trip.

The grounds keepers at this site were so kind and took our kids on the four-wheeler around the grounds several times.

After camping we stopped to have a swim on the way home.

1-2-3 Jump!
